Toshiba plans to market the world’s first 3D TV that doesn't need special glasses later this year, a report said on Tuesday.

The company has developed a new system that emits a number of rays of light with various angles from the screen so that viewers can see stereoscopic images without glasses, the daily said.

MANSORY presents the G-Couture

Kourosh Mansory puts a designer piece on wheels. The automobile refiner MANSORY turns the Mercedes-Benz G-class into a luxury vehicle class of its own in a limited edition of only seven cars. The car is based on the Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG and bears the name G-Couture. Only very few people will be able to enjoy this unique automobile. The edition is strictly limited to only seven cars.
The new tailored suit of the G-model impresses both visually and also technically. The entire exterior up to the lower window edge and the roof of the SUV are made of carbon. But the ultra-light and high-strength material is not enough for MANSORY and its aspired exclusiveness. By using the autoclave-prepreg-method, the carbon is compressed so strongly in a special pressure chamber that no more air inclusions remain in the material. Normally, this processing method is only used in aviation and aerospace, as it is very cost-intensive. But MANSORY does not accept any compromise when it comes to quality.

The refiner also puts the same emphasis into the engine modification. MANSORY replaces the majority of the components with high-performance components from the Mercedes-Benz SLR. This extensive modification leads to impressive 700 hp (515 kW) with the MANSORY G-Couture instead of the serial 507 hp (373 kW) of the G 55 AMG. The maximum torque rises from 700 to 880 Newton metres.

In order to transmit this enormous power to the road, the luxury refiner equips the G-Couture with four high-performance tyres Pirelli Scorpion in the dimension 305/35 R 23. They are carried by new, one-part SUV-rims in 23 inches which MANSORY presents at their world premiere.
And of course the interior is nothing short of the exclusive exterior. Thereby it is obvious that MANSORY has replaced the back bench with four single seats whose lateral support has grown with the performance of the car. A further application is the continuous central console which now reaches from the back seat to the cock-pit and offers the passengers at the back seat integrated monitors which are connected to the DVD entertainment system.

The MANSORY upholstery department only allows flawless leather for the interior. The perfectly processed skins do not only stand out for their endurance but also for their especially pleasant surface quality. The exquisite overall impression is enhanced by the airbag sports steering wheel and the aluminium pedals. The entire refinement of the passenger cabin is emphasised by applications made of real python skin in silver and crowned with G-Couture logos in the head rests.

Could it be the TENACITY it allow us to discover in ourselves while merely hanging with the boys and chasing that "Hey I could do that" dream we all see every once and a while. Is it that COURAGE we get when we get over that initial fear, or the ADRENALINE you get when you feel yourself getting closer to your final destination. Then there's the whole ARTISTIC aspect we are literally poetry in motion, and like all other art it crosses multiple boundaries while relatively having none of its own.

GM will officially shut down Hummer operations as the deal with a Chinese automaker stalled over Chinese environmental concerns.

Hummer joins Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Saturn in the growing pile of ex-GM brands no longer considered part of the company's focused mission of not having to file for bankruptcy again. It was hoped, as with Saab and Spkyer, another company would step up and save the brand. In this case, it was Chinese company Sichuan Tengzhong, who couldn't persuade the government in Beijing it was a good idea to accept a company like Hummer into the big Chinese automaker family because of the brand's less-than-green reputation.

This three-wheeled Honda 3R-C will debut at the Geneva auto show, where it will share floor space with the decidedly less weird EV-N. Like the EV-N, the 3R-C is an electric vehicle, although this one only holds one occupant, rather snugly it appears—kind of like an electric sock you drive. The batteries are said to sit low in the vehicle, keeping the center of gravity close to the ground.

Porsche will unveil the most powerful version of the 911 Turbo in March at the Geneva Motor Show. The 2011 911 Turbo S Coupe and Cabriolet will be available in May, 2010 with an MSRP of $159,100 and $170,200 respectively.

The engineers at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, have developed a new top-of-the-range sports car for the customer who will only settle for the very best in terms of power, performance and driving dynamics: the 911 Turbo S. The heart of this most exclusive high-performance athlete is of course a six-cylinder boxer boosted by two exhaust gas turbochargers with variable turbine geometry, with an increase in power over the 911 Turbo by 30 to 530 bhp (390 kW). Maximum torque is a most impressive 700 Newton-metres (516 lb-ft). At the same time this new top model comes as standard with all high-tech components available only as options on the “regular” 911 Turbo.

Despite its significant increase in power and dynamic performance, the new 911 Turbo S, at 11.4 litres/100 kilometres (equal to 24.8 mpg imp), does not consume any more fuel than the Porsche 911 Turbo, making it by far the most efficient sports car in its performance class.

The 911 Turbo S comes exclusively with seven-speed Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) (Porsche’s Double-Clutch Gearbox) conveying drive power to Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive. Driving safety optimised to an even higher standard is ensured by Dynamic Engine Mounts and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) including a mechanical differential lock on the rear axle. In conjunction with Launch Control on the Sport Chrono Package Turbo likewise featured as standard, 911 Turbo S accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 10.8 seconds

The supreme level of standard equipment including Dynamic Bending Lights, 19-inch wheels in RS Spyder design with central locking, a three-spoke sports steering wheel with gearshift paddles, adaptive sports seats, cruise control, a CD/DVD changer and exclusive twin-tone leather upholstery in Black/Crema or Black/Titanium Blue additionally underlines the outstanding class and calibre of this first Turbo S in five years.

The new Porsche 911 Turbo S will be at the dealership as both a Coupé and Cabriolet as of May 2010. The German market price of the Turbo S Coupé is Euro 173,241 including 19 per cent value-added tax and local equipment in the market (the Euro base price is Euro 145,400). The Cabriolet retails in the German market at Euro 184.546, again including 19 per cent VAT and local equipment/specifications (base price Euro 154,900).

“Tiger Woods will be speaking to a small group of friends, colleagues and close associates at 11:00 a.m. EST Friday at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida,” an e- mailed statement from Woods’s agent, Mark Steinberg, said. “Tiger plans to discuss his past and his future and he plans to apologize for his behavior.”
“Tiger feels as though it’s time to make amends and to publicly do that,” the agent said. “This has all come together quite quickly.”
